1. About Paperuna
Paperuna is an online document utility service owned and operated by Aaron McGuire. This policy explains what information may be processed when you use the website and your privacy choices. For privacy questions or requests, contact paperunatool@gmail.com.
2. Documents you process
Paperuna's available document tools process files locally in your browser. Document contents are not uploaded to Paperuna for processing and are not stored in Paperuna's database.
Documents and generated results may remain temporarily in your browser's memory while a tool is open. They are cleared when you refresh or close the page, and can also be removed by starting over.
We do not use document contents, filenames, OCR text, passwords or generated files for advertising, analytics or model training.
3. Information we may receive
- Basic technical request information, such as IP address, browser type, timestamps and requested pages, may appear in security and hosting logs.
- Consent preferences are stored in your browser.
- If you allow analytics, Google Analytics and Vercel Web Analytics may record page visits, referrals, approximate location, browser and device details, and privacy-safe usage events. Paperuna does not send document contents, filenames, extracted text, signatures or passwords.
- If advertising is enabled with your permission, Google AdSense and its partners may process device identifiers, cookie information and advert interaction data according to their own notices.
- Google Search Console may provide aggregate Google Search queries, impressions, clicks and crawling information. It does not use a visitor tracking tag on Paperuna.
4. Why information is processed
Information is processed to provide requested tools, secure and troubleshoot the service, prevent abuse, understand aggregate product performance where consent is required, and fund the free service through advertising where advertising consent has been provided.
5. Legal bases
Depending on the context, processing may be necessary to provide the service you request, based on Paperuna's legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, required by law, or based on your consent. Optional analytics and advertising storage is not activated until you make a choice where consent is required.
6. Service providers and international transfers
Paperuna uses Vercel for hosting and, with analytics consent, Vercel Web Analytics. With analytics consent, Paperuna also uses Google Analytics. With advertising consent, Paperuna uses Google AdSense. Google Search Console supplies aggregated search-performance and crawling information without installing a visitor tracking script. These providers should receive only the information needed for their role. Some may process information outside the UK; appropriate safeguards must be used where required.
7. Retention
Documents processed in your browser remain under your control and are not retained by Paperuna. Security logs are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for security and operations. Consent choices remain in your browser until cleared or replaced.
8. Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing, receive portable data, and withdraw consent. You may change optional technology choices at any time using . You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office or your local supervisory authority.
9. Security
Paperuna uses measures intended to reduce risk, including browser-side document processing, file validation, bounded resource usage, sanitised errors and secure response headers. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
10. Free service and output disclaimer
Paperuna's document tools are currently provided free of charge. You use the tools and their outputs at your own discretion. Results can vary depending on the source document, browser, device and selected settings, so you should review every generated file carefully before relying on it, signing it, publishing it or sharing it. Keep a separate copy of every original document.
The tools are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Paperuna does not promise that the service will always be available or error-free, or that an output will be accurate, complete or suitable for a particular legal, professional or commercial purpose. Paperuna is not a substitute for professional legal, financial or other specialist advice.
Aaron McGuire is not responsible for loss arising from a user's failure to review an output, misuse of the tools, problems in a source document, or circumstances outside Paperuna's reasonable control. Nothing in this section excludes or limits any statutory consumer right or any responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded, including responsibility arising from a failure to provide the service with reasonable care and skill.
11. Children
Paperuna is a general document utility and is not directed at children. Advertising configuration must be reviewed carefully before the service is knowingly offered to children.
12. Changes and contact
