1. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small pieces of information stored by a website. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels and device identifiers. This policy uses “cookies” as a convenient collective term unless a distinction is necessary.
2. Paperuna's current storage
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
paperuna_consent_v1 | Local storage | Records whether analytics and advertising technologies are allowed. | Until you clear site data or replace your choice. |
Uploaded documents and generated results may be held temporarily in browser memory while you use a tool. They are not advertising cookies and are cleared when the page is closed or refreshed.
3. Necessary technologies
Necessary technologies support functionality explicitly requested by you, such as remembering privacy choices, protecting the service and maintaining temporary workflow state. They cannot be disabled through the consent panel where they are essential, although you can clear browser storage through your browser settings.
4. Google Analytics and Vercel Web Analytics
Both analytics services remain disabled unless you allow analytics. Google Analytics may measure page views, approximate location, device and browser information, referrals and interactions. It may set first-party cookies including _ga and _ga_<container-id>, which Google lists with a default expiry of two years, subject to browser limits and the site's Google Analytics retention settings.
Vercel Web Analytics measures information such as page path, referrer, approximate location, browser, operating system and device category. Vercel states that this service uses anonymised data and does not use cookies; its visitor hash resets after 24 hours. Paperuna additionally removes query strings before Vercel page data is sent.
Neither service is permitted to receive document contents, filenames, extracted text, signatures or passwords from Paperuna.
5. Advertising and Google AdSense
The AdSense script and advert requests remain disabled unless you allow advertising technologies. When enabled, Google and its partners may use cookies, device information and advert interaction data to deliver, personalise and measure adverts according to your choices. Paperuna never sends document contents, filenames, extracted text, signatures or passwords to Google AdSense.
Paperuna communicates separate analytics and advertising choices using Google's Consent Mode. Google Analytics and advertising scripts are blocked until their relevant category is allowed.
6. Managing your choices
You can accept all optional technologies, reject them, or choose categories separately. Withdrawing consent is as easy as providing it. Changes apply to future activity; providers may require additional deletion controls for information already collected.
7. Browser controls
You can also block or delete cookies and local storage through your browser. Blocking necessary storage may cause the consent banner to reappear or prevent preferences from being remembered.
8. Google Search Console
Google Search Console provides Paperuna with aggregated information about how pages appear in Google Search, including search queries, clicks, impressions and crawling issues. It does not require a visitor tracking script and is therefore not controlled by the cookie banner. Paperuna does not submit document contents to Search Console.
9. Updates
This policy will be updated when Paperuna adds or changes analytics, advertising or other storage technologies.
